Listen to "Over It" by Colin Munroe and Stream His New Mixtape "Unsung Hero"

As of late, I've been stumbling upon a lot of indie electro-hip-hop (which might not even be an actual term or genre, but just run with it) and its really been reshaping my feelings on hip-hop all together. This new track from Colin Munroe called Over It is helping with this reshaping.

This new track is a moderate tempo track with a cool, relaxed vibe that makes you just want to bop along with it and a great electro flair in its production that just begs for this song to be remixed and thrown into a club.

That's not all I have for you today, dear EQs! Colin has also just dropped his new free mixtape Unsung Hero, which I have to say, is pretty stellar (and I will most likely be reviewing it later today when I have more spare time!). But until I get around to reviewing the full mixtape, you can stream it below while you eagarly await my thoughts on it.

Listen to "Hurry (Lovin' is Crazy)" by Surrender

Surrenderloveiscray

By Jordan Meehan

I rather like this new track by Surrender called Hurry (Lovin' is Crazy); it isn't really an electro-dance song, but it's not slow either. It's a good song to bop along to. Who doesn't like a good mid-tempo jam? It has some pretty simple, straight forward lyrics and a stellar production that really drives it home.

Hurry (Lovin' is Crazy) has a very contemporary sound with noticable disco and house influences, and is a bit nu-disco (or disco nouveau, whatever you want to call it). You'll definitely want to keep your eye on Surrender, and you can listen to the new track here:

Listen to "Humility - EP" by Carnivals

Carnivalshumility

By Jordan Meehan

I've said many times before that the type of electronica I usually prefer is hard, gritty and aggressive, but even I really enjoy a good piece of relaxing synthpop that is both soothing and simple; something I can listen to and completely unwind and lay back with my eyes closed. The new EP by Carnivals, entitled Humility is just the kind of synthpop I'm talking about.

This new 5 track release has a simple but still complex sound to it that really makes you appreciate the production that has gone into it. It is somewhat reminiscent of the music of Jean Michel Jarre with still reveling in it's own originality and is something you can easily relax to, which is a rare find in the age of generic dance pop music dominating the charts.

You'll definitely want to give this one a listen and add it to your collection, EQs!
