EQTV – Watch “Merry Xmas (Says Your Text Message)” by Dragonette

These Holiday tunes continue to appear and rather like indulging in a festive eggnog or two, they’ll either bring the merry best, the over emotional slush or the grinch out of you.

Of course, Dragonette can be relied upon to provide a feisty alternative to the traditional seasonal ding-a-dong song and they do so in Christmas break-up tune “Merry Xmas (Says Your Text Message)”. Sketch in a profanity or two and it’s as merry, merry festively un-holy as The Pogues & Kirsty McColls’ “FairyTale Of New York”.

I can see the reasoning behind this accompanying text speak video, however, I do feel a little short changed by it, I’d have much rather seen Martina bitching it up in angel robes or a sassy santa suit, with a raised sherry glass in one hand and an extended middle finger elevated from the other.
