MySpace Discovery - Chew Lips

 L_0ac60b619c0d4fa79ad471feda32d64a

How sexy is this trio?...

Say hello to Chew Lips.  They are hotly tipped as ones to watch and from having taken a listen to some of their tracks like "Salt Air", "Slick" and "Solo" from their upcoming 2010 album "Unicorn", I would say that I'd fully support that claim to fame.

They have been gathering a sizable fan base while still flying just under the radar and something tells me they could just breakthrough early next year when "Unicorn" (and how awesome is that album name?!) is released.  If you like your electro with a bit of a pop edge and a serious commercial sensibility, then I think you'll like totally dig Chew Lips.  My favourite track - the groovetastic and synthy "Salt Air" - for sure.

You can download some of Chew Lips tracks over on their official website and their MySpace page.

Free Download/MySpace Discovery - Madeleine Bloom "Euphoria"

 Madelinebloom

Fans of Imogen Heap will probably appreciate the quirky soft electronica of Madeleine Bloom - I know I do.

It's kinda all early days for Madeleine, but her track "Euphoria" is a somewhat of an electronica dream that I've listened to about three times now and in my world - that pretty much means I like it.

It's a little left-field, a little bit dreamy and it's obviously Madeleine likes to smile a lot, but I just had to share this today with you - you may or may not like it but since you are here reading this - well, give it a go...like I said, it's very Imogen Heap-ish and you all know I'm a huge fan.

MySpace Discovery: Mr Fogg

 Mrfogg

The picture above isn't Mr. Fogg, but rather an advert for his unique pop-up music shop that will be hitting London's busy Oxford Street next month on December 9th - 12th, amidst the Christmas shopping madness!  At the pop-up music shop, fans, randoms and passers-by will be able to experience Mr. Fogg's unique and blissful electronica music and if they so desire, by a Mr. Fogg album or a badge or two for their other musically-inclined friends of electronic pop.

Sounds cheesy?  It's not at all.  In fact, it's rather forward thinking and fully supports my thoughts in getting artists and musicians back into the stores...

Here is what Mr. Fogg had to say about his pop-up shop idea...

"It's about creating a little Mr Fogg world just off one of London's busiest streets - seeing my logo in amongst the McDonalds and Starbucks. But it's also about putting music back on the high street. Just about the only place you can buy physical records now is your local supermarket along with the pizzas and frozen peas - this is an attempt to create an opportunity for people to interact with music in a slightly more creative environment."

Need some convincing?  Well, Mr. Fogg makes some incredible electronic music in the realm of Owl City and Lights if that gives you a nice comparison.  He's also worked with Bjork's producer, Valgier Sigurdsson if that lends a bit of credibility to your thinking.

I'm already a fan - make sure you check out "Moving Parts" on his MySpace and I think you'll agree that Mr. Fogg should be someone that you add to your radar...

MySpace Discovery: Listen To "I Love You Too" By Haberdashery

 L_8deff4f680ed398f4774de37536c3d56

This has to be the most beautiful electronic ballad I've heard in a very long time time...

Take a listen to "I Love You Too" by Chicago-based Haberdashery.  There is something about this song that is just so beautiful, sweet, sincere, honest and simple - it gave me a case of the goosebumps upon the first listen.  The video too is quite unique as well - genius in it's execution yet still very endearing for being totally handmade.

More Haberdashery on MySpace - but in the meantime, you can bet I'll be listening to this song on repeat for many months to come...

MySpace Discovery - Upstation

 Upstation_roof22

I swear, Russia is the new Sweden.

Meet Upstation - a new electronica act from Russia that I simply cannot stop listening to.  You will absolutely go bonkers for their tracks "Get It On" and "Connect" over on their MySpace page.

With new electronica acts like Upstation, Xuman and Tesla Boy and old pop favorites like Sergey Lazarev, t.a.t.u and Vlad Topalov representing Russian music the way they do, it makes me want to go take a cd shopping holiday over there as Russian pop and electronic music is so where it's at these days...

Am I right or am I right?
