MySpace Discovery: Bertie Blackman

I really really like this Aussie chic's voice.  It's kinda interesting - in that curious sort of way.

Take a listen to her tracks "Heart" and "Thump" from her album "Secrets And Lies" over on her MySpace page.  It's not stomping electro nor is it chart-busting pop, but it's got that Edie Brickell And The New Bohemians feel to it - laid out over some slow burning electronic house that pleases my ears and makes my shoulders sway away.  Totally cocktail inducing music.  I'm drinking a vodka tonic and listening to this as you read.

Thanks to Nelson Clemente for sending this one over - great find and I'm really curious about this album of hers.  I want to hear more.
