More HOT Than Hot: Imogen Heap's "Wait It Out", Darren Hayes and Christina Aguilera Speak Out On Prop 8, Craig David's "Insomnia" isn't that bad!
Imogen Heap world premiered a new song off her new album at Pop Tech recently called "Wait It Out". It's gorgeousness shines through in the simple piano performance. I can't wait to hear the final album version, it's classic Immi. Watch below. Are you excited yet? I'm bursting with fruit flavour to hear the new album!
Darren Hayes has been getting a little perturbed about California's controversial decision on Prop 8. In a recent blog post, Darren posted a lovely picture of himself and partner Richard in Paris and commented on the picture saying, "It's us, tearing down the fabric of good society and the sanctity of marriage in Paris. Lock up your children!". I couldn't agree with Darren's thoughts on Prop 8 more. I am also happy to live in the UK where gay partnerships are at least recognized and celebrated. I'm hoping President Elect Obama will do something about it for my fellow American friends and family.
Christina Aguilera also spoke out against Prop 8 recently which was really nice to hear. You can hear her views on it as well below. I'd love to see the current "superbitch" holding up a rally sign against Prop 8. Somehow I think she could get people to listen! I've also been loving the electronic re-workings Christina has given us recently in the way "Genie 2.0" and "You Are What You Are (Beautiful)" as well as the poptastic "Dynamite". Have you heard them yet? Very good indeed. Work the nu-retro Christina!
Craig David's new song and video to "Insomnia" doesn't actaully bother me either. Shockgasp! Thank the stars though, because his last two songs were rather, well, not very good in my opinion and I thought it was all going downhill for Craig. Although the electro-pop seems a bit forced with Craig David on this tune - he actually pulls it off and well. What do you think?

I'm convinced Imogen will heap upon us a whole host of dazzlement thro 2009. I'm with you EQ I can't wait to hear the completed album, but for now I'm really enjoying the vlogule journey I'm travelling on with her.
Nope Craig David's not stiring up much interest with me either these days. Kanye on the other hand - I'm in total loc down with that vocoder thingie he's got going on ;)

Kanye?!!! Oh dear Mandy. I was turned off by his antics on MTV demanding he win a moonman win he lost. Only divas and gay men do that...ahem. But he is a rather good musician I guess...I sound like Kelly Osbourne describing Christina Aguilera a little there don't I?!

babe - totally loving the new xtina stuff; still not loving "keeps gettin' better" though. it's just missing something and i can't quite put my finger on it. just picked up the compilation today and i could totally hear the rocker cashier boy's eyes roll in his head. loves it. hahaha
it is extremely disheartening that america is all about change change change and just one day after the election of Obama, we hear about this nonsense. i really hope all these rallies don't fall on deaf ears.

Heee... Heee... see I'm such a faghag that I don't even bat a lash at such behaviour no more, I just expect it!! ;). To be Frank I've never given Kayne much time of day until now, sumfings gripped hold of me with LoveLock Down. The Drums are sorta Kate Bush "Running up That Hill", stick a vocoder into the mix and I guess I'm pretty much sold on it. :D

Just wanted to clarify that even after Proposition 8 passed, California continues to recognize domestic partnerships -- which provide gays and lesbians all of the rights and obligations of marriage, just without the name.
I vehemently opposed Prop 8 -- in fact, I took part in several of the protests in California after Prop 8 passed. But from your statement about being pleased to be living in London, I did not want you to be left with the impression that gay and lesbian relationships now have no legal protection in California.
In fact, with the exception of a handful of European countries, Canada, and 2 other US states which offer gays the option to marry, California's domestic partnerships continue to offer gays and lesbians the most legal protection than any other jurisdiction on the planet.
