Popshow Live at Soho Revue Bar

Last night Electroqueer had the pleasure of attending Popshow at the Soho Revue Bar.  In all honesty, we only had intentions of enjoying the Switch22 and Madison performances, but we were extremely surprised at the plethora of talent on-hand to entertain the enthusiastic crowd.  Popshow is a must-not-miss evening now on our agenda and we'll make sure to keep you informed when the next one is announced - way way better than a night out at G-A-Y if you ask us.  Spotted in the audience:  Limahl, Jocelyn and Ben Adams!  So no MySpace discovery blog today, because all of these acts are worth checking out!

Switch22_1

SDB and Swany from Switch22 were definitely the crowd pleaser of the evening - The hot electro duo sang 'Back To The Dancefloor', '1985' and 'Electric Girl' - A song SDB claims is about how a toaster fell into the bathtub with his ex-girlfriend still in it.  Hilarious!  Thanks to Switch22 for giving Electroqueer a 'shout out' in their live performance - awww shucks.  Kudos to our boys as well - they've just lined up 5 shows in New York City.  More details to come and the Switch22 interview is still in the works!  Stay tuned.

Madison

OK - we were a little nervous for Madison.  It was his first Popshow and he's still relatively new to the pop scene, but wow - we were amazed or what?!  Think David Bowie meets the Pet Shop Boys with a little Madonna 'Lucky Star' costumery thrown in.  Madison commanded the stage with his hot tune 'Move Your Ass' and the beautiful electro-ballad 'Agitation'Madison picks up where Patrick Wolf leaves us hanging.  More on Madison is in the works as well!

Electricdolls

The Electric Dolls are a bit different - and that's what they are aiming for.  Huge surprise to our eyes and ears!  Think Gwen Stefani meets the Spice Girls.  The Electric Dolls have potential to be a huge force in the electro world.  We got a chance to catch up with Lynsey from Electric Dolls afterwards and we can't wait to do a feature on them very soon!

Holly

Holly Berry shined brightly on the evening - huge voice and very listenable.  We fell charmed to her presence and her lovely tunes - one called 'Ice Cream'.  We will be following Holly very close and so should you!

Digital

The boys from Digital gave a great performance and you can tell they've been practicing their dance moves!  The boys posed for this great candid shot and let's hope to hear more from this promising new boyband in the future!

i'm so so sad i missed out - digital, switch22 and beyond are all acts i've been promoting for months - MONTHS! - on my site, along with Jean :( It's like the lineup was put together for me. Sniffle

Great pictures! And it sounds like it was a great (and impressive) show. Great music plus a Ben Adams sighting--you really can't beat that ;) Thanks for the report--unless I move to the UK, this is the closest I get to seeing these groups you all rave about.

They all sound like they were grest! I'll have to check one of the next popshows, I'm so missing out. Those Digital boys look like lovely young men too ;-)
